from: anonymous on: October 20, 2026 - 1:40 p.m. Event date: Friday, November 27, 2026 - 12:00 p.m. City/Region: Nationwide; Leipzig Antimilitarist Weekend in Leipzig - Workshops, Discussion and Networking &

Deutsch (original) ·Auto-translated to English

Militarization in the Federal Republic of Germany is being driven forward at a massive pace and is permeating large parts of society. Be it the compulsory military service and the compulsory military service of young people, the expansion of state surveillance measures, the shift towards a war economy, the upgrading of the Bundeswehr into the strongest army in Europe, and last but not least the omnipresent war propaganda and the drastic cuts to the last bit of the welfare state. In short: the warmongering of those in power is in full effect and the social consequences are already noticeable - which the right in particular knows how to use to their advantage. At the same time, the resistance, whether from young people in particular against compulsory military service or from neighborhoods that unite against new weapons factories in their neighborhoods, gives us hope and courage. It is clear to us that we cannot rely on the state, because a just, real peace is always in contradiction to the nationalist and capitalist-imperialist system in which we live. It is all the more important that we come together in these times, join forces and together strengthen counter-positions from below to the logic of war.

That's why we want to discuss, exchange ideas and network with you on a small scale on the last weekend in November. There will be a small program with a little input on current developments in the Federal Republic of Germany and the region around militarization and rearmament and current examples of antimilitaristic practice. The focus of the weekend will be on jointly discussing the possibilities of an antimilitarist practice here on site that is directed against the state, hierarchy and coercion, i.e. the structures that produce and maintain war, and instead relies on self-organization and solidarity-based solutions from below.

So make a note of the weekend - more concrete information will follow soon! We are of course happy to receive suggestions and ideas or if you would like to get involved. Then please get in touch here:antimil_le@systemli.org
